Hey guys! We all know that it's our dream to have our news stories on HIKI NO. Well PBS Hawaii has made a tutorial series on how to produce a good HIKI NO story. The tutorial series features how to do all the elements of a news stories. From interviews to shooting a b-roll sequence.
Hey guys! We're back from Koke'e and let me say, that was the most fun I've ever had in a long time.
Hey guys! On the second day of STN 2015 in San Diego we went to the "Film Excellence Award Ceremony" which awarded films made by schools from across the nation. On of those films was called "Go to the Ball with me Jenny". This film was made by students from Fayetteville High School and it was awarded for multiple categories which are "Best Directing", "Best Sound Design", and "Best Art Direction/Set Design". After STN, I was trying to find it online, Youtube, Vimeo, nothing and I couldn't find it until now on Youtube. The story of the film goes like this. This nerdy guy named David is asking this girl Jenny to go to the winter ball with him. To impress her, he decide to make a video about himself, to persuade the girl to go to the ball with him. I really enjoyed this film because it has that ametuer feeling but at same time it has that professional feeling as well, to me. For example the when he was talking about his mother, and when they moved the camera into her face and told them take the camera out of her face, it felt like it was not scripted and felt like if it was real life, but at the same time it still has that professional touch with the voiceovers and stop animation. Another is the shots, really like the shots, nice and compressed which gives it a professional feel as well as shaky shots which gives it a ametuer feel. It's also very funny to watch and recommend this film to anybody that likes to laugh. So that's it for this week and until next time, peace.
Hey guys! This weekend, we are off to Kokee with 3 days full of fun. The theme of the camp is "Ohana Means Family", this camp is for our class to bond together and know each other. To make sure that happens, I will do 3 things to make sure this camp is successful. The first thing is come to camp with a good attitude. Secondly is to help and look out for one another. Lastly is to bond with other students.
First of all, I'm gonna make this camp successful by coming to camp with good attitude. When some becomes that person that is all moody and has a bad attitude, it affects the rest of the group or "ohana" especially when we in one space. It may get somebody else moody and have a bad attitude as well which is what we don't want. So coming to camp with a good attitude will make everyone happy and even make those people in a bad mood, be in a good mood which is also good as well.
Secondly, I'm gonna help and look out for one another. In our class, we have a tendancy to make mistakes, a lot of them, but were kids so I think it's not too bad. For example, sometimes we leave our laptops out in the open and leave them when class ends. Later on, Mr. M would confiscate it. He has reminded us to #putitback and if somebody leaves their equipment by accident, to put it back for them so they don't get in trouble. So this weekend, I want to do just that and more. I'm not sure how I could do that at camp but who knows what may happen. Another thing that I want to do is help out. We are gonna go on hikes as well as pulling out ginger for community service, so I know that somebody will need help along the way. For example, if somebody maybe slips off the trail from mud since it's rain lately, maybe I could help that person get back up. Overall, I want to help and look after my classmates.
Lastly, is to bond with my classmates. This camp was planned for us to get us closer as a family. Last year, everybody had their own group in the class so we only really bonded on the trip and later on as well. But this year, Mr. M wants those groups gone for good. So at may part, I'm gonna bond with my classmates to achieve that. This is gonna make us closer together as a family, our CKTV ohana, so when were on the trip those group gone and were all socializing with different people and not the same people.
I think were gonna have a great time in Kokee. For me, I'm gonna do this by coming with good attitude, help and look out for one another, and to bond with my classmates. If me and my other classmates do this, I believe we are gonna go back down the hill as a family, happy. That pretty much it for this week, make sure to come back next week to read the latest and greatest. Peace!
