At 9pm, the anchor team headed out to do our "Man on the Street" segment. We got 5 subjects for our "Man on the Street" asking the questions about how we use science and technology and the positive/negative effects of it. We finished the Man on the Street by 11 and started editing that as well as start our anchor stand-up scripts. The problem was again, we had a lack of stories to show because of the area.
Eventually, we got all the stories and were able to continue script making. We finished the scripts by 1:30, right after I came back from my meeting for STN Presenters. We proceeded to film later on after 2 after some script revisions and finished filming by 3. We filmed on the 10th floor and 47th floor which is the top floor. I got to say that this building is huge and tall of course, Taylor was so scared...poor thing. We went back down stairs and started to do final editing. There was another problem though, the opening and the closing stand-ups were shaking in the beginning because of the phone mount. Mia T. went out with Taylor and Herenui to reshoot the segments.
After many problems being fixed, we made the deadline 15 minutes before the deadline. Thank the lord. After that we packed up and went to the rooms to put down our stuff and went back downstairs for dinner at some restaurant near the hotel. While walking, I thought I lost my phone and so me and Mr.M went around the streets to track it down but with no luck. Luckily, I just left it at the room. I feel so bad for Mr. M that he needed to help me find a phone that I just left in my room. Sorry Mr.M😰.
After dinner, we went back to the hotel and went upstairs to the ballroom for the opening ceremony. At the opening ceremony we learned that STN has a new president, her name is Jacki Romey. We heard some very inspiring and funny words from tonights keynote speaker, Kyra Phillips. She talked about her backstory and also talked about stories about people that really inspired us. One of those stories was about a news reporter and how she struggled the first time she did a stand-up. That person was Oprah, the most inspiring person in the world that everyone loves. It taught us, it may be tough at first, but push forward and you'll be fine. Anyways we left the ballroom at 9:15 and did our debrief and that concluded the day.
